Janina Grinevich was born in 1978. In 2000 graduated the Liepaya College of Arts and Craft as diplomated designer (Liepaya, Latvia). Since 2005 she lives and works in Riga, Latvia.
Since 1995 she works in graphic art continuing the tradition of the famous German graphic artists. Eventually she developed the given skill in her own style creating the illustrations to the literary works, legends, sagas and fairy tales.
As well the artist makes a painting in oil on canvas, basically in portrait and genre painting, extensively completing the last one with the traits of symbolism. In her works the artist boldly uses her wide knowledge of various architectural and interior styles, culture-historical heritage, fashion and crafts history, completing all with fantasy details.
Started to exhibit in 1996 and since that time participated in a number of exhibitions in Latvia, Russia, Germany, as well in Great Britain and Italy, lot of her art works found their places in private collections. In 2007 she took top place "in absentio" in graphic drawing competition in prof category at the International Art Assembly in Moscow, Russia. In 2009 participated in the First Russian Art Fair in London, Great Britain. In 2009 she was honoured to complete a mural painting for the Conference Room at CBR building in Warsaw, Poland, under the Cultural Monuments Reconstruction project. The same year artist’s art works were exhibited on the beneficent auction under Minerva Art Project in a benefit for the suffered by the earthquake L’Aquila region and the renovation one of the famous churches “Di Santa Maria del Suffragio”. Two of her art works Janina donated for the Art Foundation of the given town. In 2012 was awarded by the diploma of the Latvian Maritime Administration for participation in the exhibition marking the 100 anniversary of Titanic.
