Janina Grinevich was born in 1978 in the city of Krivoi Rog, Ukraine. In 1986 her family moved to the city of Liepaja in Latvia. But in 1994 she entered a Decorative and applied arts college of Liepaja. In 2000 she graduated the Decorative and applied arts college of Liepaja as diplomaed designer. Since 2005 she constantly lives and works in Riga, the capital of Latvia.
Since 1995 she works in graphic art continuing the tradition of the famous German graphic artist Herman Vogel. Eventually she developed the given skill in her own style creating the illustrations to the literary works, legends, sagas and fairy tales.
As well the artist makes a painting in oil on canvas, basically in portrait and genre painting, extensively completing the last one with the traits of symbolism. In her works the artist boldly uses her wide knowledge of various architectural and interior styles, culture-historical heritage, fashion and crafts history, completing all these with fantasy details.
She took part in many exhibitions in Latvia, Russia, Germany, as well in Great Britain and Italy, a lot of her art works found their places in private collections. In 2007 she took premier place "in absentio" in graphic drawing competition in profs category on the International Art Assembly in Moscow, Russia. In 2009 participated in the First Russian Art Fair in London, Great Britain. As well in 2009 she completed a mural commission for the conference room in the Museum of Industry and Agriculture in Warsaw, Poland. The same year artist’s art works were exhibited on the beneficent auction within the framework of the Art Project Minerva in a benefit for the suffered in earthquake L’Aquila region and the renovation one of the famous churches “Di Santa Maria del Suffragio”. Two of her art works Janina donated for the Art Foundation of the given town.
